Stephen was invited to speak at the Women’s Fellowship at Torrisholme Methodist Church, where he received a cheque donation and lots of Dog goodies as a result of the Harvest Festival . Harley, one of Stephen’s own dogs, decided to snore through part of it!

Tesco, Carnforth were among generous people who donated trout &

salmon to aid Harriet Otter’s recovery before she was returned to Coniston.

Lane’s Vets & clients generously collected dog food in their 3 practices leading up to     Christmas. Stephen, Dan, Elton & Betty pictured receiving the gifts.

Bagpacking & Carol Singing at Sainsbury’s, Garstang just before Christmas. We are thrilled to be their charity for the year.

Next  Christmas the photos taken of our dogs with donated gifts will not be taken on just one camera, then should the memory card be accidentally lost, we will still have some ! Sincere apologies! The toys are thoroughly enjoyed out in the field though.

Cohen’s Chemist, Morecambe adopted Wolfwood as their charity for 2014/15. They raised a magnificent total of £1154.43 - fantastic, thank you so much girls!                           

Barry Davies from Birmingham  completed the Coventry Half Marathon for Wolfwood on Sunday 1st March. He raised £342.50. Fantastic to receive such support, huge thanks Barry.


Bay Vets veterinary surgeon Paul Higton handed over 10 sponsored personalised fantastic jackets to Stephen, Dan & Peter. They are of huge benefit. Bay Vets take care of our animals…and the staff! Mar’15

Tori Nixon celebrated her birthday by running her first ever (London) marathon. She raised £242.95 for us, she divided the total amount raised between 2 charities. Pictured with her supportive Mum, Pauline.

Helen Painter, who adopted a Wolfwood dog, also completed the same event and raised a staggering £855.

Morecambe Carnival Parade 2015

It was a bit far to walk for one of our very young, but large puppies!

Axa Insurance (Bolton) staff volunteers came and spent a day as part of their community service.

Some were challenged more than they were expecting, especially with assisting in the extension of the wildfowl pond, but we think (!) they enjoyed themselves and were certainly a huge help!

The Royal @ Heysham Charity Dog Show raised £450.52 for Wolfwood on 7th June. It was a very hot day! Huge thanks to organisers Juli & Charles Scanlon and the very accommodating Landlord of the Royal, Joe Walker. A very pleasant event. Thank you.

Silverdale Dog Show 2015

The entry fee of £64 for the Best Rescue class was kindly donated to Wolfwood. 13th June

Volunteer Angela spent time in Matalan, Morecambe & collected £83.76 while raising awareness. - 23 May.  At other times she can be found in our charity shops.

Wolfwood is the Charity of the Year, for the 2nd year running, at Sainsbury’s in Garstang. During May a competition was held to Name the Puppy. The winning name was Elsa.

Elsa was also in need of a home. Store manager Mike & Elsa found they were very well matched!

Stuart completed the Liverpool  Half Marathon on behalf of Wolfwood - raising £167 - a brilliant achievement! Thank you so much.

We were invited to be part of the Tree Festival in Morecambe Parish Church. Pupils from St John’s Primary School, Silverdale took time and effort to decorate it  - original & fantastic!

Our calendars were on sale at a no of local shops & Bay Vets.

The public successfully voted for us to receive dogs leads and embroidered hats from

Lenny & Rex are modelling them.

LUSH beauty products in Lancaster held a charity event for us 22/23rd Mar. Wolfwood volunteers were there for both days and on Sunday, staff Chloe, Peter & Chris called in with Polly, Kay & Spud, to offer support.

Year 7 student James (Ripley St Thomas Academy, Lancaster),completed a sponsored cycle ride from our kennels to Preston and back, as his community project for school. Younger brother  Charles & Dad Mark went with him. It was very cold, wet & windy!

The severe storms in February caused damage to our wildlife pens, we also lost some trees and a goose. 02/ 2014.

Morecambe Carnival 4 May 2014 - the first carnival for 15 yrs, it was a huge success & we’ll be back next year.

Saturday 29th June - Water Wipeout (10k obstacle race) - small issue of her almost drowning during the first long swim but she survived and was ready for the next challenge.

Sunday 7th July - Lakeland Trail Marathon (26 miles)- ‘Hottest day of the year’ so far, struggled with the heat but finished in just over 4 ½ hours.

Saturday 3rd August -Total Warrior (10k obstacle race)- Ran in a red morph suit with her sister (Don’t ask!) completed the course in just over 2 hours 6 mins,

Sunday 4th August - Total Warrior (10 mile obstacle race) -completed in 1 hour 47 mins, finished 4th lady and was overall 83 out of 1098 competitors

Sunday 25th August- Cockerham Triathlon (350m swim, 14.5k bike ride and 5k Run)

Saturday 2nd November- ‘Hell up North’ (12 mile natural obstacle course in Delamere Forest), she finished the course with a time of 2hrs 1min and 51sec. Competed against 2,010 nutters in what was a very wet and muddy challenge, Mel came past the post in 88th place overall and was 3rd lady out of 560.

Mel from Heysham  recently handed over a fantastic £677 after completing a summer of physical challenges in aid of Wolfwood. The list is exhausting to read.

Supporters Mary and Norman celebrated their 80th birthdays and donated £50 to Wolfwood in lieu of presents. Huge thanks for all your support.

Huge thanks to everyone who came and supported our Annual Day Out and Fun Dog Show. We had a record 362 entries for the show and saw a lot of very happy ex Wolfwood dogs. All helpers and volunteers were fantastic and made the day a huge success.                                             14/7/13

The venue, on the forecourt of Launderama and hair x change, attracted a lot of support and it stayed fine. Wolfwood & Save A Pet Dog Show, Morecambe Festival Market.Sept 2016

Nathan completed the Three Peaks Challenge (Ingleborough, Whernside & Pen-e-ghent) in 10hrs & handed over £85 for Wolfwood to Dan (staff). Very well done Nathan, thank you, a fantastic achievement!

In Nov’16, unsold items from our charity shops, due to be disposed of, were washed, packed & taken to Battambeng Hospital, Cambodia. Newborn babies are dying through lack of clothes, hats & bedding. Jenny, (nurse in ICU at Royal Lancaster Infirmary & cousin of WW founder Stephen) transported them when she visited to help train medical staff there.

Television presenter Chris Packham is a wildlife expert, photographer and author. His latest stage show, "A Wild Life Exposed" was performed at The Platform, Morecambe on 3rd December.

Morecambe Super Bowl organised and sponsored a Family Fun Night to raise funds after the shop fire. When the new shop opened Wolfwood Founder/Manager Stephen was presented with a fantastic £580. We’ve had requests to hold another in the future, it was such  a good night! Sincere thanks to all who made it possible.

New shop opening - weekend 26/27th October 2012

Wolfwood staff had just locked up at 4pm when there was an explosion from the garage next door. No one was hurt.

It took the fire service 3 hrs to gain control of the fire. Eight engines were there at one point. Gas canisters and three cars were obstacles the fire crew had to work round.

Views through the windows the morning after. The roof and back wall are damaged and WET!

Our new shop opened a month later, further along the road, opposite  Moorside Primary School.

The shop frontage looks remarkably undamaged and belies the drama  that went on behind it. The  garage next door is gutted and so is the corner shop on the far side. Initial thoughts are that all the buildings will be demolished.

We are hugely indebted to the rescue services, thank you is very inadequate.

Yogi and his brother were 2 days old when they were taken in by Wolfwood and then hand reared. They are both happily homed. Well done Yogi (and  Linda - love the wellies!)

Lune Valley Dog Training Club hand over a mammoth £3500 to Wolfwood’s Founder and Manager Stephen. Huge thanks to all who helped raise the amazing amount during 2012 and for your continued support. It makes a significant difference to our future plans for improving the service we give our wonderful dogs. Well done!

“I can see - thank you!”

Seven year old Flip was dumped at Wolfwood over Christmas (one of many), but Flip had cataracts in both eyes making him blind. He has been adopted, and on 30 January had surgery to his right eye, he is now adjusting to being able to see and is making up for lost time. On the Vets recommendation he will not be undergoing further surgery. Thank you to all who contributed towards his operation. The excess will go to help our other dogs in need.

Ayden and his family adopted Dave (on the right), one of our senior dogs. Ayden & friends had a cake day at their school, Skerton High  & raised a fantastic £100 for Wolfwood. Ayden (and Dave, renamed Ted) are pictured handing over the cheque to Stephen. A wonderful effort and huge thanks to all who helped. Well done Ayden.

Wildlife TV personality & naturalist Chris Packham, returned to the Platform, Morecambe on his latest tour - Chris Packham’s Wild Night Out. He presented his latest collection of exquisite images. During his talk he endorsed  the work done at Wolfwood.

Graham Clark, friend  Suzanne Dunn and Lindsey Higham ( Graham’s sister), who took part in the Keswick to Barrow Walk- 11 May 2013 on behalf of Wolfwood. They took 10.44 hrs (7 of it in the rain!). Think they  more than  earned some refreshment! Very well done, thank you.

Thank you to the children of Ryelands School, Lancaster, who raised £92.38 with a car boot stall for us.  Six of our rescue hens were adopted by the school recently and are a huge success. The money raised will buy new feeders for our hens. Well done Ryelands ! 8/6/13
